Halloween is the one night of the year when spooky, silly and sweet all work at once. Whether you are signing a card for your kids, texting the group chat or wishing your team a happy Halloween, the right Halloween greeting sets the mood in a single line.
Below are 60 Halloween greetings in eight groups — family, kids, friends, funny puns, your partner, coworkers, customers and short greetings. Pick the tone that fits the person, then add one detail: their costume, a shared plan or a favourite treat. Each section ends with a ready-to-use prompt you can paste into any AI chatbot to make the message your own.

Best for: the family group chat, cards for relatives and notes tucked into treat bags.
Family greetings feel warmer when they name a tradition you share. Claude Sonnet 5 is good at turning one memory into a sincere, playful message:
Write a Halloween greeting for my [relationship] [name]. One Halloween tradition or memory we share is [detail]. Give me two versions under 50 words, warm and a little playful.
Best for: lunchbox notes, kids' Halloween cards and messages for the class party.
For younger children, a short rhyme reads best — try the AI poem generator, or use the prompt below. For more creative fun, our Halloween writing prompts for kids turn the holiday into a story.
Write a Halloween note for my child [name], who is [age] and is dressing up as [costume]. Use simple, playful words, keep it friendly rather than scary, and stay under 40 words.
Best for: best friends, party invitations and the group chat that plans every costume.
Want a greeting only your friend will get? Gemini 3.5 Flash writes quick variations you can match to an inside joke:
Write a Halloween message for my friend [name]. Mention [an inside joke, a past costume or a plan we have this year]. Give me three versions under 40 words: one sweet, one funny and one short enough for a text.
Best for: friends who love a pun, party invites and anyone who prefers giggles to goosebumps.
Humour depends on the person, so it helps to try a few versions. Grok 4.5 is good at playful puns and cheeky one-liners:
Give me eight funny Halloween greetings for [who they are for]. Use puns about [ghosts / pumpkins / candy / a specific costume], keep each one under 15 words and avoid anything too dark.
Best for: your partner, spouse or the person you're sharing a cosy horror-movie night with.
Romantic greetings work best when they mention something only the two of you share. Claude Haiku 4.5 gives you short options to choose from:
Write a Halloween message for my [partner / spouse] [name]. Mention [a memory, costume or plan we share]. Give me three versions under 40 words: one romantic, one playful and one for a card.
Best for: team chats, office party invites and notes to your manager, where fun and professional sit side by side.
Keep workplace greetings light and inclusive, since not everyone celebrates. If you are sending it by email, the AI email writer can format it, or use this prompt:
Write a Halloween message for my [colleague / manager / team]. Thank them for [a specific contribution this year]. Give me three versions under 40 words, fun but professional and suitable for coworkers who may not celebrate Halloween.
Best for: customer emails, social posts and Halloween messages from your business.
Customers notice when a greeting feels personal rather than promotional. GPT-5.6 Sol keeps the tone friendly without sounding like an ad:
Write a Halloween greeting from [company] to our [customers / client name]. Mention [a milestone, project or community moment from this year]. Give me three versions under 50 words, friendly, on-brand and without a hard sales pitch.
Best for: texts, Instagram captions, treat-bag tags and anywhere a few words are enough.
Posting your costume or pumpkin? The Instagram caption generator handles captions, or use this prompt for quick texts:
Give me ten short Halloween greetings under 8 words each for [who they are for], mixing cute, funny and spooky, and include two that mention [name or costume].
Writing for a long list of people — family, friends, coworkers and customers — is where personalisation takes the most time. Chat Smith brings Claude, GPT, Gemini, DeepSeek and Grok together in one app, so you can adapt any Halloween greeting by relationship, tone and length, and compare how several AI models phrase it before you send.
To turn your message into a card, party invite or social post, Chat Smith Design Studio creates a finished design from your words: start from a template or describe your idea, then adjust colours, text and style by simply asking.
Halloween greetings are short spooky-season messages, wishes or quotes people send to friends, family or coworkers around October 31st to celebrate the holiday. They often reference pumpkins, witches or trick-or-treating, and work well in cards, texts, social posts or party invites.
