Chat Smith has added GPT Image 2.0 to its model lineup — OpenAI’s third-generation image model built on O-series reasoning, capable of near-perfect text rendering, native 4K output, and precise multi-turn editing, available now for all Chat Smith Pro users at no extra cost.
OpenAI launched GPT Image 2.0 (model ID: gpt-image-2) on April 21, 2026, the third in its native image series following GPT Image 1 (March 2025) and GPT Image 1.5 (December 2025). Unlike earlier DALL-E-based models, GPT Image 2.0 is built directly into the GPT architecture and uses O-series reasoning to plan and self-check before generating a single pixel.

Unprecedented lead on Image Arena. GPT Image 2.0 reached #1 on the LMArena Text-to-Image leaderboard at launch with an Elo of 1,512 — a 242-point gap over second-place Nano Banana 2 at 1,271, the largest margin ever recorded. Native 4K output with flexible dimensions. The model supports native resolutions up to 3840×2160 with custom aspect ratios and adjustable dimensions, removing the need for post-process upscaling. It can generate up to 10 images per prompt, with cross-image consistency maintained via thinking mode.
Precise multi-turn image editing. GPT Image 2.0 handles image-to-image edits via natural language: background replacement, object swaps, style localization, and brand asset iterations — without regenerating the full image. On Image Arena’s editing leaderboards it ranked #1 in both Single-Image Edit (1,513 Elo) and Multi-Image Edit (1,464 Elo).
